What God’s Love Isn’t
Some believe that if God is truly loving then He couldn’t send anybody to hell. If He’s so loving He wouldn’t alienate anyone or FORCE them to believe a certain way. Many believe that God’s love will blind Him to their selfishness and sin.
On the contrary, God’s love is so real, strong and active that instead of taking our best as good enough, HE came down and paid the debt we owe. His love is so true that he explains step-by-step how to get to Him, how to please Him and how to know His will. His Love is so powerful that it, comprehending God’s justice and judgment made a way for us to get back to Him.
His love is greater than allowing anyone, to come to Him by any means; His love is so great He came to us.
God looks down on the maze of obstacles and hurdles we lay out to show Him our value. He sees failed attempts at lives purposed on reaching Him their own way and He takes pity on us. Between where we are and we would need to be to please God is a great gulf fixed and impassable but for one path. Christ spanned that divide to come to us and built a bridge with the wood of His cross and the stones of His tomb to bring us home to Him.
Some will look at God’s “ONE WAY” sign to get to Him and think that is an elitist system that excludes others of unlike faith and others will see the grace, the miracle and the love of creating a way at all.
Does a good job of illuminating some of God’s Attributes. Everything that God is, He is fully and completely. And because He is God, all His attributes are in full congruity. He does not have to sacrifice His Justice and Judgment to be Loving; He doesn’t have to forfeit His Mercy and Grace to be Holy. It is actually through this is unique perfection that the plan of Christ’s redemption was established. His Love couldn’t let us die without Him, but His Justice couldn’t let us into Heaven. His Mercy wanted to create a way, but His Holiness knew that the only way into Heaven is perfection.
And that is Christ.
